Age: 18, born June 9th. On the wiki she is listed as 17 during the anime but since the game for LoveLive just celebrated her birthday I believe she should be 18.

Canon Point: The anime has ended after season 2 and there is currently a movie coming out in a few months. There is also a game for the series that expounds on the characters.

Orientation: Bisexual. In the canon Nozomi has expressed interest in her friend Eli Ayase beyond her normal teasing. She has also made comments about men that hint to an attraction to males as well.

Personality:
Nozomi was a once a very shy and nervous girl. Her parents moved quite often when she was young and as such she had difficulty making friends throughout her childhood. She didn't come into her own and come out of her shell until her first year at Otonokizaki High School when she met Eli Ayase and befriended her, seeing her as a kindred spirit. With Eli to balance her out, Nozomi was able to become more emotional and outgoing. She has stated that she is Eli's "emotional and embarrassing side", because where Eli is very stern and closed off, Nozomi helps her open up. Though, even after having met Eli, Nozomi was unable to personally approach the rest of the Muse girls until after Honoka started the group and brought everyone together. Once they were all together as a close circle of friends Nozomi was able to completely open up. She tells the other girls how deeply she cares for each and every one of them and how she wanted to great a group with them, seeing that they all had the same desires and dreams to create a story of their own and save their school.

While on the student council, Nozomi also appeared as a wise adviser to Eli. She was able to keep a cool head when Eli's pride and temper flare up, guiding her from behind. After she joined muse she continued in the same capacity, advising the group and guiding them as a sort of mature conscious. In a way she uses this mature air to hide her nervousness and worry about the group. She cares for each and every one of the girls and wants them all to do well and be happy. That was why she worked so hard to bring them together. She saw a similar loneliness and longing in them that she, too, had. During the series she is often seen as catalyst that starts the development of the other girls, such as Umi, Maki, and Nico. Also, her guidance was aided by her fortune telling skills and tarot readings. Fortune telling was something that Nozomi had used in the past while moving around a lot to quickly help her fit in whenever she had to change environments and schools. As such her abilities with her cards are very honed and often reliable.

Nozomi also has a perverted side. As the eldest member of Muse she takes it upon herself to act as a sort of disciplinarian. To do so she often comes up behind the other girls and grabs their breasts, giving them a "good rub". Often the one most subject to her discipline is Nico because of the younger third year's tough exterior attitude. Though, despite her seeming perverse side she is also very protective of the other members and works to keep them safe.

Because she moved around as a child, Nozomi is not originally from the Kansai region where Otonokizaki High School is located. However, she does speek with a Kansai dialect because she lived in the region for a few years as a child. Also because of the travel she speaks a few languages other than Japanese, though English is the only other language explicitly stated. Her interest in the spiritual world and her drive to help people led her to helping out at the local shrine near the school.

Other: In the canon universe Nozomi lives alone in an apartment so that she can continue to attend high school and not move around with her parents.

My name is Nozomi Tojo. I’m seventeen years old and a member of the idol group Muse and the mini idol unit Lily White. But I suppose if you’re watching this you already knew that.

What else should I say? Elichi said this was important. Hmm. Oh! I work as a shrine maiden at the local shrine near our school. I’m very in tune with spiritual matters. If you see me don’t be shy. I’d be happy to tell your fortune for you. One day I want to either be a professional fortune teller or a talk show host. Don’t you all think that would be fun?

Oh no. It looks like I’m about out of time. Well! I hope you’ve all liked this video. I hope fortune shines on all of you. Good bye.

Third Person:
Well, something like this certainly wasn’t in her cards. Then again her cards weren’t up to the second weather detectors so she couldn’t really blame them for not telling her a huge storm was rolling in. She stood under the roof of the shrine, broom in hand, and watched the raindrops come down in torrents. The pitter patter of the drops as they hit the ground outside were almost like a melody to her, but perhaps she was just becoming too use to being an idol. The world was becoming a song to her. Everything from the rain to the prayers she heard each day from the people who sought her help were like music. Each was a separate note in a long daily melody. Some days the melodies created a symphony. Other days they were ballads. Happy days were madrigals. Sad days were requiems. But each was unique and special in their own right.

Despite her praise for the music of the rain, the storm didn't seem to be letting up any time soon. Nozomi sighed, shaking her head. "And here I was hoping to sweep the steps today." she muttered to herself. No one should have to walk up dirty steps when they were looking to pray. And, when the other idols used the steps at night for cardio practice it was dangerous if they weren't clear. But it wasn't really like anyone would be using the steps any time soon. The rain was only getting stronger. She hoped that it wouldn't begin to thunder and lightning. That was just uncalled for. One couldn't play in the rain when it thundered and lightninged.

Carefully, finally relenting, she leaned the broom against the wall. There wouldn't be any work getting done while the rain went on. Which left her to her thoughts. Nozomi could just imagine the other Muse members playing out in the rain. Well, at least some of them. Nico, Umi, and Maki would most likely stay inside where it was dry. Elichi as well. Well, at least for a little while. She would pull Eli out herself to enjoy herself. That girl really needed to loosen up sometimes. They'd join Honoka and Rin who were already out there. Rin would have dragged Hanayo. And Kotori would become weary of waiting on the sidelines and join them soon enough. Then after they'd had their fun they'd run back inside, laughing and smiling and probably soon to catch colds. But even still they'd have had their fun and would have even more chasing their dry companions around to try to get them wet too.

She'd spent so long watching those girls, moving the pieces about the board to make sure they all came together as nine to create their idol group. It was easy for her to imagine them all now. Smiling. Laughing. But it was difficult to keep her own smile on her face as she thought of her impending graduation. The three third years would be leaving soon. Their graduation was fast approaching. And just like that the melody of the rain became a requiem. It was no wonder the Three of Swords card had been appearing in her fortunes lately. There was no way to escape such sad thoughts forever. Not even the spiritual tranquility of the shrine or the purity of the rain was enough to keep it away. Nozomi sighed and shook her head. "Oh well. Its in the cards, I suppose."
